Amid the softening in the price of crude oil, the increase in the price of petrol and diesel on Saturday continued for the third consecutive day. Petrol has become costlier by 8 paise in Delhi, while the price of diesel has been increased by 9 paise. So far, petrol and diesel prices have been recorded four times this week. Due to this, petrol in Delhi has become expensive by 26 paise per liter within 6 days. Similarly, the price of diesel has increased by 28 paise per liter.
What is new rate list
According to the website of IndianOil, petrol prices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai have increased to Rs 71.97, Rs 74.70, Rs 77.65 and Rs 74.78 per liter respectively. Diesel prices in the four metros have increased to Rs 65.37, Rs 67.78, Rs 68.56 and Rs 69.09 per liter respectively. However, energy experts say that due to softening of crude oil, there is no possibility of further increase in the price of petrol and diesel.

This week, the price of crude oil has been seen in the international market. However, in the beginning of the week, there was a slight rise in the price of crude oil on hopes of easing trade tensions between the US and China. Apart from this, prices were also supported by the decrease in crude oil reserves in the US.
Let us know that the crude oil reserves in the US have decreased for the fourth consecutive week. According to the report of the US Agency for Energy Information Administration (EIA), the crude oil reserves decreased by 6.9 million barrels in the week ended September 6. According to the EIA, Crude oil reserves in the US were recorded at 61.61 million barrels, the lowest level since October 2018.
